Welcome to the official website of the National Ozone Unit (NOU) of Grenada. The creation of this website constitutes an integral component of the Public Awareness, Grenada Independence, Education initiative of Grenada’s Institutional Strengthening Project under the Montreal Protocol.
The website is intended to serve as an educational tool to provide information relating to Grenada’s role and achievements on matters relating to the Protection of the Ozone Layer. It is also intended to highlight the regional and international response to the most successful Multi-lateral Environmental Agreement to date – the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.
The menu and sub-menu of this website have been carefully selected to make information gathering a simple operation so that persons with minimal website browsing experience would find it easy and exciting to use. The site also allows for a live interactive forum where fruitful and interesting discussions are supported. Visitors to the site are encouraged to utilize this facility to ask questions and share important information relating to the Montreal Protocol.
Special appreciation must be extended to the Multi-lateral Fund Secretariat of the Montreal Protocol, the United Nations Environment Programme Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNEP/ROLAC), UNEP Department of Technology, Industry and Energy (DTIE) and the Government of Grenada for their invaluable support and contribution to this project.
